Munana Gatera is a painter of Rwandan origin who draws his inspiration from his images of Africa, his personal history, his travels and encounters. Established in Belgium for about thirty years, he studied fashion design before becoming a model and travelling the world, filling up with images and impressions. A manna from which he draws as a painter to create compositions all in dynamism and subtlety, mixing figurative and abstract.
Experimental work where Munana is in search for a line that would create a bridge into infinite freedom. Imminently subverting the frame by escaping it altogether.
